"They don't call him the Reamer Man fer nuttin!" - Krewe of SNAFU, New Orleans

No, we haven't found any of it....In October, 2001 the Radiators' equipment truck, fully loaded for an extended road trip, was stolen.  The truck was soon found (empty) at the intersection of the I-10 and Carrollton Avenue, and a few equipment cases stamped with "The Radiators" were later recovered off Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans East.  To date, however, we haven't seen hide nor hair of any of the instruments, amps, mics, or other equipment, and they are probably gone for good.  We were sort of insured (although the battle to get our money is a whole story in itself), but as anyone who has had a catastrophic loss knows, insurance can in no way cover the full cost of replacing all our gear, especially the instruments.  We're on the way to rebuilding 24 years worth of stuff - thanks to everyone for your help on the way.

Although it's probably in South America by now, check a list of our stolen gear here

The silver lining to this dark cloud is my brand new PRS Custom 24.  The guys at Guitar Center kept pestering me to try it and when I did I knew that I had found an instrument that has its own voice and that plays as well as any guitar I've ever owned.   (Besides, the malachite green finish is the Webmistress's favorite color!)

Fortunately, my  rainsonglogo.gif (29852 bytes)WS-1000 graphite guitar was at the house at the time of the theft.  I get a lot of questions about this guitar.   It's made of graphite, thus it's resistant to humidity and other forces of nature (especially helpful in New Orleans!), and it stays remarkably in tune.  The guitar has a wonderful sound and allows tremendous articulation.

My hubcaps and  collection of slides were on the truck, so I have to rebuild there.  I got off to a great start when Santa (disguised as a cranky beermaker from Minnesota) sent me a gen-you-wine Chevy 39 hubcap that has GREAT tones.  Thanks Karl!!!
