Introducing Email

Include in this email the purpose of your project site, your intended audience, and what special elements or techniques you used. In addition, you will need to tell me what validation service(s) you used and whether or not your pages passed.

My project 2 URL is:

http://personal.msy.bellsouth.net/msy/m/e/medusae/project2 I have created a new page for Amagest Press' one publication, Aertimisan. My intended audience is, of course, this class. Our little publishing company is long dead. My husband, however has wanted to put the Almagest site back on the web for posterity. He plans now to use my version instead of the one he did, years ago, in FrontPage.

I used frames for the basic site layout. My other advanced feature is an image map with multiple links. I also read ahead a bit so that I could include wave files for the character name pronunciations.

I have tested the page in MS Internet Explorer 5.5, Netscape 6.0 and 3.0, and Opera 5. The pages seem to function as intended in all of these browsers. I was very suprised that it worked in Netscape 3. I thought I would have to build a frameless version.

Validation for the Almagest Site Preformed by Web Design Group: http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/

        HTML Validation Results
Error: missing document type declaration; assuming HTML 4.01 Frameset

I don't think we've really covered the use of document type declarations in our html documents, so I did not go back and add it in. The rest of the errors that were initially found were very simply corrected. This validator is an excellent tool for finding HTML code errors.

Be Seeing Y'all,
